Cavoli beach is famous for its beauty, and thanks to its extraordinary position facing south it gets the sun from dawn to dusk. The islands of Montecristo and Pianosa can be seen from the beach, and on a clear day you can even see not just the island of Giglio but also that of the more distant Corsica on the horizon.

Scuba divers can explore the sea bed within the Tuscan Archipelago National Park. A very popular boat trip is that to the Sea Grotto of Cavoli, just outside the gulf.
